Sarah Peluse of Chicago Named COSIDA Academic All-District

University of Chicago runner Sarah Peluse was selected to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Team on Thursday.

A mathematics major from Buffalo Grove, Ill., Peluse also received University Athletic Assocation (UAA) All-Academic honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014 (3.30 cume GPA minimum). The senior capped her track and field career as the 2014 UAA champion in the outdoor 10,000 meters (37:29.89) and also finished third in the UAA indoor 5,000 meters (18:05.13).

In the academic realm, Peluse was awarded the Alice T. Schafer Mathematics Prize from the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) in January 2014, which is a national award given annually for excellence in mathematics by an undergraduate woman.

The Capital One Academic All-District® Teams are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA). First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be selected in June. All honorees must be a important team contributor with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
