Tartans Record Career-Best Marks at Bucknell

The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at both the Bucknell University Distance Carnival and the Westminster College Invitational on Saturday, April 11.

At Bucknell, senior Sara Kelly (Madison, Wis./West) raced in the 1,500-meter run, finishing second in her heat and 22nd overall in a career-best time of 4:52.78.

The 5,000-meter was run by four at Bucknell, all crossing the finish line in career-best times. Junior Sophie Lohmann (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) lead the Tartans, placing 11th overall in 18:04.81. Junior Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci & Tech) won her heat in 18:25.43 and placed 19th overall before sophomore Zofia Tillman (Westminster, Colo./Standley Lake) finished 26th overall in 18:32.00. Also running in the 5,000-meter race was junior Kira Ragazzo(Frederick, Md./Urbana), who placed 37th in 18:52.93.

Senior Erin Kiekhaefer (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) ran the 1,500-meter run amongst the list of top athletes and placed 23rd in 4:39.89, recording a career-best.
