NYU Battles Weather at Stockton

From NYU Athletics

A contingent of the New York University women's track & field team participated in Stockton University's Osprey Invitational on Saturday, April 9, in Galloway NJ.

As a result of the inclement weather, the invitational was canceled following the 400m dash.

Using her time efficiently, junior Simone Cooper claimed first place in the triple jump with a 10.45m distance. Sophomore Brianna Yee finished fifth with a distance of 9.69m.

Freshman Sabrina Illiano took 13th in the long jump with a distance of 4.08m.

Junior sprinter Nicole Lim, as the lone runner for NYU on Saturday, placed 26th in the 100m dash at 15.70.

"Simone performed up to a high standard in poor conditions," said Assistant Coach Mike Smith. "However, today was not a great day. Today had some less-than-desirable results, but they ran hard. We will see where they are at in the season next week, when we will hopefully have better weather."
