UAA Announces Women's Outdoor Track and Field Awards; Kelli Hancock and Maisie Mahoney of Washington University Earn Top Honors

Senior Maisie Mahoney and junior Kelli Hancock of Washington University were named Most Outstanding Performer in Field Events and Running Events, respectively, as the UAA Outdoor Track and Field award winners were announced.

2016 UAA Award Winners

Mahoney won the javelin throw with a mark of 38.82 meters and the triple jump with a leap of 11.36 meters to help lead the top-ranked Bears to the team title.

Hancock broke the UAA record in the 400-meter hurdles with her winning time of 1:00.75. She ran the second leg of two Bears' relays that broke UAA records, the 400-meter relay that won in a time of 46.98 seconds and the 1,600-meter relay that finished in 3:47.03.

Ariana Newhouse of Emory University was selected as UAA Rookie of the Year after she broke the Associationr record by winning the 400-meter dash in 55.71 seconds and placing second in the 200-meter dash.

Washington University earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
