Bears Set Career-Bests at Dr. Keeler Invitational

The Washington University in St. Louis women's outdoor track & field team competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College Thursday and Friday in Naperville, Ill.

Sophomore Alison Lindsay was the lone event winner for WashU after she beat her career-best time by over nine seconds to win the women's 3,000 steeplechase in 10:38.03.

The Bears added three runner-up finishes as well. Senior Emily Warner clocked a time of 56.70 to finish second in the women's 400, while sophomore Annalise Wagner followed in fourth place with a time of 57.12 and senior Lane Porter raced to a career-best time of 59.34 to finish seventh. 

Warner and Wagner then teamed with juniors Rebecca Ridderhoff and Kelli Hancock to finish second in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:53.62. 

A pair of freshmen secured career bests and fourth-place finishes for the WashU women. Freshman Heidi Nassos cleared a career-best mark of 3.61m in the pole vault, while freshman Abby Martin raced to fourth in the 1,500 with a career-best time of 4:35.73.

In the women's 400 hurdles, Hancock placed fourth with a time of 1:01.86 and Ridderhoff clocked a career-best time of 1:02.82 to finish sixth. Senior Maisie Mahoney (37.16m) and freshman Rachel Kershner (36.44) came in seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the javelin throw to round out the top-eight finishes.
