Nathaniel Wahner Sets CWRU Record at All-Ohio Championships

With just a week remaining before the 2017 University Athletic Association Championships, the Case Western Reserve University track and field team appeared to be in top form on Saturday at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships in Delaware, Ohio.

Junior Marie-Louise Kloster led the women on Saturday by claiming an All-Ohio honor in the 400-meter hurdles, placing second with a time of 1:05.05.

Other Spartans earning All-Ohio honors for a top-three finish in an event at the meet included sophomore Shannon Carroll in the javelin throw, finishing third with a toss of 36.10 meters, and in the shot put, placing third with a mark of 12.17 meters. 

Additional scoring performances for the Spartan women came from senior Temi Omilabu in the hammer throw (sixth, 45.45m), junior Nimi Gupta in the hammer throw (seventh, 44.79m), junior Cassandra Laios in the discus (fourth, 40.12m) and in the shot put (fifth, 12.08m), freshman Vanessa Pasadyn in the 1,500-meter run (fifth, 4:50.67), sophomore Olivia Newman in the 400-meter hurdles (fifth, 1.07.13) and in the 100-meter hurdles (eighth, 16.43 seconds), freshman Shahed Eid in the 800-meter run (sixth, 2:23.72) and the 4x400-meter relay team of Kloster, Pasadyn, Newman and freshman Brianna Rees (fifth, 4:04.37).
