The New York University women's track & field team finished day one of the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, NJ, on Friday, April 7.

Junior Megan Davis took part in her second 3,000m steeplechase in as many weeks. The Snohomish, WA, native led the Violets in the event with an 11th-place finish, clocking a personal-best time of 11:48.35. Following behind were 13th-place senior Justine Morris and 16th-place junior Morel Malcolm with times of 11:59.43 and 12:08.53, respectively.

Competing in her first outdoor event, sophomore Sabrina Herrmann took 29th in the 5,000m by registering a time of 17:49.08. Trailing behind were juniors Hannah Haley and Lara Dorsky in 41st (18:30.92) and 42nd place (18:32.17), respectively.

"Both of Megan's and Sabrina's races today were highlights," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "Megan has a bright season ahead in the steeple. Sabrina was looking for her breakthrough race and found it today."

NYU's final contender on Friday was freshman Isabella Steains. The Hong Kong native finished the 1,500m in 37th by posting a time of 5:18.70.
