NYU Competes at Ursinus College Invitational

The New York University women's track & field team competed at the Ursinus College Invitational in Collegeville, PA on Saturday, March 25.

Sophomore Mimi Conti led the team in short distance by finishing third in the 100m dash and posting a personal-best 12.76 during the event's preliminary round. This is a strong start to the season for Conti, as her top time of the 2016 outdoor season was 13.38. She also finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 26.88.

In the field, junior Brianna Yee finished third and posted a season best 10.46m in the triple jump. Fellow upperclassman, senior Dana Placentra, finished third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20m.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Three Violets finished among the top 10 in the 1,500m. Senior Justine Morris, junior Megan Davis and junior Morel Malcolm finished third (4:58.09), sixth (5:03.30) and eighth (5:10.93), respectively.

- Junior Lara Dorsky finished third (18:23.71) in the 5,000m and was the only female to compete in the Mixed 10,000m (38:44.95).

-Sophomore Samantha Scoggins finished sixth in the 100m dash and fifth in the 200m dash. She posted times of 12.97 and 26.90, respectively.
