Gabrielle Stravach Sets 1500-Meter Emory Record on Final Day of Dr. Keeler Invitational

Junior Gabrielle Stravach improved upon her school record time in the 1500m Run as the Emory University Track and Field teams concluded action at the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College in Naperville, IL Friday night.

Stravach shaved almost six seconds off her previous best mark, clocking in at 4:30.65 to finish second overall on Friday. Her previous top time was 4:36.42 set at last year’s Dr. Keeler Invite.

Senior Mia Eisenhandler cut over 22 seconds off her personal best mark in the 3000m Steeplechase, turning in a time of 10:54.07 to place eighth. Her time moved her into fifth place on the Emory all-time list and third among individuals.

The women’s 4x100m Relay of junior Julia Leventhal and sophomores Dilys Osei, Dani Bland and Ariana Newhouse also impressed at the meet, finishing third with a new season-best time of 47.14. In individual events, Bland took first in the 100m Dash at 11.91 and was fourth in the 200m in a time of 24.98. Newhouse placed third in the 400m at 57.59 and was eighth in the 200m at 25.45. Osei posted a new career-best time of 1:03.24 in the 400m Hurdles and Leventhal placed 31st in the 100m Dash at 13.10.

Rounding out the Emory competitors Friday night in Naperville was sophomore Bennett Shaw clocking a new personal-best mark in the 3000m Steeplechase at 9:18.13 to finish 18th, junior Charlie Hu in the triple jump (7th, 14.15m) and junior Erica Goldman (4th, 58.28) and freshman Kaitlyn Leonard (9th, 1:00.27) in the 400m Dash.
