UAA Announces 2017 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Awards

The UAA announced the 2017 Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship awards.

2017 UAA Outdoor Track and Field Honors

Senior Daisy Ogede of Washington University was named Most Outstanding Performer for running events, while junior Cassandra Laios of Case Western Reserve University garnered the award for field events.

Ogede won individual events in the 100- (11.89 seconds) and 200-meter (UAA record 23.99 seconds), and the 100-meter hurdles (14.31 seconds). Laios took home UAA titles in the shot put (12.00 meters), discus (39.10 meters), and the hammer throw (49.56 meters).

Laura Darcey of University of Chicago was chosen as Rookie of the Year. Washington Head Coach Jeff Stiles and his staff were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year for leading the Bears to the team title.

Darcey won the long jump (5.60 meters) and finished second in the high jump (1.59 meters).
