12 Bears Earn USTFCCCA All-Midwest Region Honors

The Washington University in St. Louis track and field program had 12 student-athletes earn 2017 U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region honors, as announced Tuesday by the Association.

The Bears had nine women earn honors in 12 events for a total of 19 awards while the men had three student-athletes earn All-Midwest accolades.

Earning the honor for the women were seniors Kelli Hancock, Ashley Knudson, Annie Marggraff, Daisy Ogede and Rebecca Ridderhoff; juniors Alison Lindsay and Annalise Wagner; and sophomores Abby Martin and Heidi Nassos. Representing the men on the All-Midwest Region team were seniors Everett Kleven and Deko Ricketts, as well as freshman Nick Matteucci.

The top-5 individuals in each event from their respective regions earn the honors, while the top-3 marks in relays also earn All-Region distinction. Ogede and Ridderhoff led the Bears by totaling eight All-Region honors. Listed below is a full look at the individuals, events and national rank.

Women

Alison Lindsay – 1,500m (16th, 4:33.18); 3,000m Steeplechase (Third, 10:41.56)

Annie Marggraff – 5,000m (35th, 17:20.45); 10,000m (25th, 36:17.20)

Abby Martin – 3,000m Steeplechase (Ninth, 10:46.56)

Heidi Nassos – Pole Vault (17th, 3.77m)

Daisy Ogede – 100m (Ninth, 11.89); 200m (Third, 23.99); 100m hurdles (Fourth, 14.31) 4x400m Relay (First, 3:44.42)

Rebecca Ridderhoff – 400m (14th, 55.86); 100m hurdles (Seventh, 14.37); 400m hurdles (First, 59.38); 4x400m Relay (First, 3:44.42)

Annalise Wagner – 800m (Fourth, 2:10.13) 

Men

Everett Kleven – Pole Vault (Third, 5.18m)

Nick Matteucci – 1,500m (Sixth, 3:48.25)
