Bears Outrace Opposition to Win Saint Louis University Invitational

The Washington University in St. Louis women's track & field program placed first amongst the competition at the Saint Louis University Invite.

In a field of eight teams including Division I SLU and several Division II programs, WashU totaled 218 points to outpace the hosting Billikens' 180 points. The WashU women outscored the runner-up Billiken women by 49 points with 248 points.

Senior Rebecca Ridderhoff's 400 hurdle time highlighted the day as she finished the course in less than a minute to set a new WashU record. She finished in first place with a time of 59.38, which ranks 10th all-time in Division III history. Ridderhoff's time is the top mark in Division III this season, while senior Kelli Hancock placed second with the nation's second best time – 1:01.09. Freshman Anna Cossio finished in 1:03.95 and placed fourth with the 16th best time in Division III this year.

Ridderhoff also combined efforts with Hanock, junior Annalise Wagner and senior Ashley Knudson for a first place time in the 4x400-relay, 3:48.78. The group's time leads Division III this season, while freshman Nicky Althoff, Cossio, freshman Sara Mesiano and  senior Anna Bailes ran to the 18th fastest time in country this season, 4:01.23.

Senior Daisy Ogede also dominated the field with four total first place finishes, including three individually. She ran to first place finishes in the 200 dash (24.12), 100 dash (12.01), 100 hurdles (14.58) and the 4x100-relay (48.72). Ogede's 200 time ranks first in the country while her 100 dash time ranks fifth. Teaming up with Ogede in the 4x100-relay were sophomore Jay Pittman, Hancock and Ridderhoff.
