Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field senior Sarah Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Hampton) completed her career at the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday evening.
A weather delay forced the start of the 800-meter race to move from 5:15 p.m. local time to after 8:00 p.m. Cook was in the third heat where she finished fifth with a time of 2:13.23. Her time was 17th best with the top nine advancing to the finals.
Cook was just the second Tartan to compete in the 800-meter run at the national outdoor meet following the 2010 appearance by Courtney Baker.
