Eagles Win Emory Invitational Behind Standout Sprint Performances

Led by several standout sprint performances, the Emory University Women's Track and Field team won its home invitational over the weekend, outscoring the field of 30 teams with 146.5 points.

Junior Dani Bland led all athletes in the 100m Dash, registering the fastest NCAA Division III time of the season to date at 11.89. She added a second place individual effort in the 200m Dash with a time of 24.77 which places her third nationally.

Senior Erica Goldman impressed on Saturday, winning the 400m Dash in a time 56.13, good for second in the country, and carried the 4x400m Relay to a second place finish with a time of 4:02.41 which ranks fifth nationally.

On Friday night, junior Dilys Osei claimed the top spot in the 400m Hurdles, winning the event in a time of 1:03.08, a mark that puts her third on the DIII leaderboard.

The Eagles added a win in the 4x100m Relay as Bland, Goldman, senior Julia Leventhal, and freshman Rebekah Bondi posted a time of 48.38, a time that currently stands third in the country.

Bondi also recorded a first place showing in the long jump with a mark of 5.21m to lead all field performers. Freshman Taylor Robinson took third in the javelin at 33.91m while junior Jordan Small tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.55m.

In the triple jump, sophomore Nyla Lindo finished second at 11.35m as did sophomore Isabel Saridakis in the pole vault at a height of 3.35m. Junior Paris Wagner recorded a pair of top-seven showings, taking sixth in the hammer throw (40.75m) and seventh in the discus (36.06m).
