NYU Competes at Vassar

The New York University women's track & field team competed at the Vassar College Invitational on Saturday, April 21, in Poughkeepsie, NY.

NYU tallied 76 points at the event to finish fourth out of 10 squads. Host Vassar scored 171 to finish in first place.

Leading the way for NYU was Alexa Goldman, who won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:10.35. 

Evelyn Nkanga's mark of 10.93m gave her second place in the triple jump, while teammates Brianna Yee(9.74m) and Kobi Kane (8.71m) finished in third and fourth place, respectively.

Olivia Kobayashi (1:04.72) and Anna Walewski (1:06.59) completed the 400m dash in third and fourth place, respectively. Kobayashi also had another top-five finish, as she crossed the 200m dash finish line in 29.12, which gave her fifth place.

In the 1,500m, the Violets had three top-10 finishers as Elizabeth Ward (5:17.99), Mary Neville (5:18.06) and Karen Yao (5:20.27) finished in sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively.
