Jeff Stiles and Annalise Wagner of Washington University Earn USTFCCCA Midwest Region Awards

The No. 7-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's track & field team took home two awards from the latest announcement by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with head coach Jeff Stiles earning Midwest Region Coach of the Year and senior Annalise Wagner being recognized as the Midwest Region Track Athlete of the Year.

Stiles guided the WashU women to their fifth of 16 University Athletic Association (UAA) outdoor track & field titles this season. The Bears are the top ranked team in the Midwest Region and boast 11 entries in the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Wagner ran the nation's second fastest 800m time this outdoor season, when she broke the WashU school record with a time of 2:07.31 at the Billy Hayes Invite. She also ran the anchor leg of DIII's 10th fastest 4x400m relay time this season, 3:50.75. In the Midwest Region, she ranked first in the 800m, fourth in the 4x400m, seventh in the 400m (57.29) and 13th in the 1,500m (4:41.93).

Stiles and Wagner will represent the Bears at the DIII Outdoor Track & Field National Championships Thursday-Saturday, May 24-26 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
