UAA Announces 2018 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Awards

The UAA announced the 2018 Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship awards. Junior Dani Bland of Emory University and junior Heidi Nassos of Washington University received top individual honors.

2018 UAA Outdoor Track and Field Honors

Bland was named UAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performer for running events, capturing UAA titles in the 100- (12.45 seconds into a head wind) and 200-meter (26.13 seconds) events. She also ran the second leg of the Eagles' winning 400-meter relay (48.01 seconds) and the third leg on the victorious 1,600-meter relay (3:52.75).

Nassos garnered the UAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Most Outstanding Performer award for field events. She earned UAA titles in the pole vault (3.78 meters) and triple jump (11.64 meters), while adding a third-place finish in the long jump (5.26 meters).

Randal Walker of Washington University swept the discus (41.13 meters) and shot put (12.73 meters) events to take home UAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year honors.

Washington Head Coach Jeff Stiles and his staff were honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year for leading the Bears to the team title.
