The University of Chicago women's track and field team began the indoor season on a high note with dominating performances as hosts of the Phoenix Invitational on Saturday.
UChicago's women were first of three teams with 242 points, topping runner-up Aurora at 139.
The Maroon women had 11 wins on their ledger. A trio of runners earned a pair of victories. Senior Mikaela Hammel, junior Michelle Dobbs and senior Rebecca Askins-Gast were all part of the 4x400-meter relay which won in a time of 4:07.45. They each went on to take first in individual events. Hammel won the 60 meters (8.17), Dobbs won the 400 meters (1:00.63) and Askins-Gast won the 800 meters (2:19.64).
