Daisy Ogede Breaks Washington University Record in 200 Meters

Junior Daisy Ogede broke a school record to highlight career-best performances for the Washington University in St. Louis women's indoor track & field team Friday evening at the Hoosier Hills Invite hosted by Indiana University.

Ogede took three-fourths of a second off her previous career-best to break a seven-year-old school record in the women's 200. She finished second in the event with a time of 24.95, breaking Danielle Wadlington's record of 25.67 set in 2009. Ogede's time ranks third in Division III this season. Ogede also finished 14th in the 60 with a time of 7.95.

Senior Emily Warner ran the second-fastest time in WashU history to finish fourth in the fast heat of the women's 800 in a time of 2:12.56. Sophomore Annalise Wagner (2:14.36) and junior Ashley Knudson (2:16.51) also ran career-bests to finish sixth and seventh, respectively, in the fast heat.

 Junior Molly Kuhs missed her career-best by just .25 of a second, but finished third in her heat of the women's mile with a season-best time of 5:08.44. Senior Ellen Toennies was 10th in the fast heat of the mile with a time of 5:22.63.

Junior Kelli Hancock ran a season-best time of 59.11 to finish second in her heat of the women's 400. Junior Rebecca Ridderhoff just missed advancing to the finals in the women's 60 hurdles, finishing tied for ninth with a time of 9.19. She was also 18th in the 60 in 8.30.
