Bears' 1,600 Relay School Record Highlights Keck Invitational

The Washington University in St. Louis women's 1,600 relay team broke an 11-year-old school record to lead the Bears to the team title at the Keck Invitational hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University Friday-Saturday, Feb. 5-6. The WashU men won three individual events and finished third in the team standings.

The WashU women scored 116 points at the meet to win the team title over runner-up Carthage College's 91 points. Monmouth College won the men's team title with 108 points, while Loras College edged WashU 86-85 for the runner-up spot.

The WashU women's 1,600 relay team of juniors Rebecca Ridderhoff, Kelli Hancock and Daisy Ogede and senior Emily Warner broke the school record by three-hundredths of a second with a winning time of 3:52.83. It is the second-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.

The four members of the relay each won an individual event at the meet as well. Ogede ran the second-fastest time in school history and the fifth-fastest time in DIII this season to win the 200 in 25.70. Freshman Elise Grever was second in a career-best 26.16. Ogede and Grever also finished second and third in the 60 with times of 7.88 and 7.94, respectively.

Ridderhoff clocked a winning time of 9.09 to take first in the 60 hurdles, while Hancock won the 400 in a season-best time of 1:00.27. Warner won the 800 in 2:13.60, while sophomore Annalise Wagner was second in a season-best time of 2:15.20, which ranks 11th on this season's DIII leaderboard.

Sophomores Alison Lindsay (10:03.59) and Aly Wayne (10:04.70) both posted season-best times to finish second and third, respectively, in the women's 3,000. Freshman Ellie Degen was fourth in the event with a time of 10:17.59. With their times, Lindsay and Wayne rank ninth and 11th, respectively, on this season's DIII leaderboard. In the field events, senior Melanie Ehrenberg had the best performance of the meet for the WashU women, clearing a season-best height of 3.51m to finish second.
