Bears Open Season at Titan First Chance

The Washington University in St. Louis men's and women's indoor track & field teams won six event titles at the Titan First Chance Meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University Saturday.

Senior Emily Warner was part of a pair of first-place finishes for WashU. Warner won the women's 600 with a time of 1:35.07, while junior Ashley Knudson was second with a career-best time of 1:37.20. 

Knudson, juniors Rebecca Ridderhoff and Kelli Hancock, and Warner won the women's 1,600 relay in a time of 3:58.92. 

Junior Daisy Ogede had three top-four individual finishes for the WashU women. She won the 200 in a time of 26.05 and was third in the 60 in 8.00. Ridderhoff clocked a career-best time of 9.21 to finish second in the 60 hurdles, while Ogede was fourth in 9.40.

Senior Maisie Mahoney had the fourth first-place finish of the day for the WashU women, clearing a career-best height of 1.57 meters to win the high jump. Freshman Heidi Nassos had a third-place finish for the Bears with a clearance of 3.35m in the women's pole vault in her first collegiate meet.
