From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team competed at the Tiffin University Dragon Invitational on Saturday, February 11.
Freshman Rachel Reolfi (North Canton, Ohio/Canton Central Catholic) led a trio of top ten finishers in the mile run with a second-place finish. The freshman crossed with a season-best time of 5:25.14. Sophomore Rose Ciriello (Madison, N.J./Madison) finished fourth with a time of 5:26.58 and freshman Abigail Levine (Bethesda, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase) placed sixth with a time of 5:34.74.
Freshman Emmalyn Lindsey (Eugene, Ore./South Eugene) ran a season-best time in the 3,000-meter in 11:32.03 and took 15th. Classmate Vayda Farino(Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) also turned in a season-best time, as she crossed with a time of 2:33.94 in the 800-meter run.
In the pole vault, senior Grace Yee (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) placed third after clearing the bar at 3.50 meters while freshman Michelle Karabin(Ruffs Dale, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) cleared it at 3.35 meters to place sixth.
The triple jump saw sophomore Tessa Allen (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Bishop Montgomery) mark with a season-best jump of 9.93 meters to place sixth. Allen also placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 1.50 meters. Sophomore Autumn Hair (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) leapt 9.92 meters in the triple jump to place seventh. Senior Sommer Farber (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) took 10th in the triple jump with a distance of 9.77 meters.
Freshman Julianne Igbokwe (Chantilly, Va.) tossed the shot put 11.16 meters to finish 11th while Kiersten Chuc (Cupertino, Calif./Monta Vista) placed 17th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.71 meters.
