The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field team combined for 125 team points, but fell to University Athletic Association rival Carnegie Mellon University in the Ninth-Annual Battle for the Obelisk.

The CWRU women's team scored 66 points and the men contributed 59 to the team total. The Tartan women scored 70 points and the men scored 77 for a team total of 147 points.

Senior Temi Omilabu earned the title in the women's weight throw with a mark of 16.27 meters, a mark good enough for a new meet record. Omilabu surpassed the old meet record of 15.21 meters set in 2009.

With another meet record, the women's 4x400-meter relay team of senior Abby Casalnova, junior Marie-Louise Kloster, freshman Bari Love and sophomore Olivia Newman finished first in the event with a final time of 4:11.31, besting the previous meet-record of 4:11.64 set last season.

Junior Danielle Kulpins was first to cross the finish line in both the 3,000-meter run (11:01.25) and the 5,000-meter run (18:40.91), while Newman won the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.30.

Freshman Samantha Kelts claimed the title in the triple jump with a mark of 10.30 meters and junior Cassandra Laios hit a mark of 12.00 meters in the shot put to earn the title.
