CWRU Closes Competition at CWRU Spartan Holiday Classic

With a top performances from junior Rachel Willard, the Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team wrapped up competition on Saturday evening at the Fourth-Annual CWRU Spartan Holiday Classic.

Willard jumped 10.37m for first place in the triple jump.

The Spartan women also turned in six other top three performances throughout the meet. Sophomore Olivia Newman earned a second place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.52 and junior Skylar Braga finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8:04.

In the weight throw, junior Cassandra Laios finished third with a mark of 14.11m and finished third in the shot put with a career-best mark of 12.33m. Sophomore Shannon Carroll placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.44 and freshman Bari Love finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.52.

Braga, Love and Newman also teamed up with freshman Brianna Rees to finish first in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:49.99, second-fastest in school history.
