From NYU Athletics

The New York University women's track & field team was represented by a small contingent of competitors at the Gotham Cup, which was held at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY, on Friday, January 20. 

Competing against competition from all NCAA Divisions, several Violets recorded notable performances.

Pole vaulter Dana Placentra, the reigning UAA Athlete of the Week, posted a new personal best in the event with a height of 3.30 meters, which was good for seventh place. The performance put her in a tie with Ilana Brown for the indoor school record. Placentra already owns the outdoor record.

Simone Cooper produced a 14th-place finish in the triple jump with a career-best leap of 10.83m, while Lara Dorsky was 15th with a personal-best time in the 3,000m (10:52.13). 

Cooper also finished 67th in the 60m dash (8.81).
