Chicago Takes Third Place at Chicagoland Championships

The University of Chicago women's track and field captured third place at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships on Friday, hosted by North Central College.

DePaul University topped the 18-team field with 152 points. UChicago ranked third with 70.5 points.

The Maroons finished in the top five in seven different events. Junior Kelsey Dunn posted the best result of the day by winning the 3,000 meters in 10:27.96. She was closely followed by senior teammate Madeleine Horvath in second place only a second behind (10:28.94).

Junior Claire Costelloe was a third-place finisher in the 5,000 meters (18:16.34). Other individual top-five placers included freshman Isabel Garon (4th) and junior Angel Fluet (5th) in the pole vault; freshman Alisha Harris (4th) in the 60 meters; and sophomore Jenna McKinney (5th) in the 800 meters.
