Maroons Participate in Final Qualifiers at Carthage, UW-Stevens Point, and Ohio Northern

In a final push before NCAA nationals, the University of Chicago track and field headed out to participate in several final qualifier meet. The Maroons traveled to Carthage College on Friday and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Ohio Northern University on Saturday.

UChicago produced its best results of the weekend at the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointer Final Qualifier. The two women's relays picked up wins with quality times. The distance medley relay of junior Megan Verner-Crist, senior Eleanor Kang, junior Cassidy McPherson and junior Khia Kurtenbach posted the seventh-best time in NCAA Division III at 11:55.92. The 4x400-meter relay of Kang, freshman Alisha Harris, junior Olivia Cattau and sophomore Emma Koether put up the nation's 16th-best time of 3:55.94.

Freshman Robin Peter put up a low time of 8.87 to win the women's 60-meter hurdles. That time currently ranks ninth in NCAA Division III.

At Ohio Northern,  freshman Laura Darcey participated in multi-events. Darcey took third in the women's pentathlon with 3,144 points. She ranks 24th in the nation in the pentathlon. 

At Carthage, freshman Isabel Garon was fourth in the women's pole vault at 3.56 meters. Sophomore Alexandra Thompson was fifth in the women's high jump at 1.55 meters.
