Washington University in St. Louis track and field head coach Jeff Stiles and assistant coach Lane Lohr were chosen by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the Women's Indoor Track & Field Coaches of the Year, as announced by the USTFCCCA Tuesday.

After leading the WashU women to the first track & field National Championship in school history, Stiles was honored as the USTFCCCA Women's National Coach of the Year. The women's program entered the Championship weekend with a meet-best 11 entries and as the No. 1 team in Division III. The Bears did not disappoint as the women scored points in the 60, 200, 400, 800, 60 hurdles, 4x400 and distance medley relay. Stiles was previously recognized as the USTFCCCA National Cross Country Coach of the Year in 2011 when the WashU women's cross country team won the National Title.

Lohr was honored as the USTFCCCA Women's Assistant Coach of the Year. He was directly involved in five events (60, 60H, 200, 400, 4x400) that the Bears scored points in to help WashU claim the title. All six events that Lohr coaches were represented in Naperville, Ill. at nationals. In the final event of nationals, WashU needed at least a third place finish in the 4x400 relay to pass Ithaca College for the team championship. The Bears crossed the finish line as the runners-up, scoring eight points to propel the team ahead of Ithaca for the school's first track & field National Championship. Lohr is the first assistant coach from WashU to be named National Assistant Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA.
