Bears Capture Team Title at I-55 Triangular

The No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis women's indoor track and field team captured eight titles on its way to winning the I-55 Triangular hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. The women scored 132 points to outpace Chicago (101.5) and IWU (72.5).

Several Bears had strong performances including senior Daisy Ogede, junior Annalise Wagnerand sophomore Heidi Nassos. Individually Ogede won the 60 meter (7.82) and 200m (25.92) while combining efforts with Rebecca Ridderhoff, Kelli Hancock and Wagner to win the 4x400m relay (3:55.58) with the top time in the country. Ridderhoff and Ogede also finished the 60m hurdles with the same time of 9.07 as Ridderhoff was credited with the event's title. 

All four individuals from the 4x400m relay won individual events as Wagner captured the 800m (2:16.15) and Hancock won the 400m (59.22). Wagner's time ranks first among Division III athletes this season.

Nassos meanwhile won two field events for the Bears. She captured first in both the pole vault (3.50m) and triple jump (11.28m). The triple jump distance is an indoor personal best for Nassos, improving her top mark of last season by 0.77m.
