Bears Win Eight Events at Illinois College

From Washington University Athletics

The Washington University in St. Louis women's track and field team totaled eight first place finishes during the Illinois College Alumni Classic on Friday evening.

The women were led by senior Daisy Ogede's two individual titles. Ogede championed both the 60 hurdles (8.98) and 60 dash (7.74). Both times are season-bests for Ogede as the 60 dash time ranks fourth in NCAA Division III this season and the 60 hurdle time ranks eighth.

Ogede also teamed up with freshman Anna Cossio, senior Ashley Knudson and junior Annalise Wagner for the winning 4x400 relay time of 3:54.94 which ranks third best in the country. The Bears 4x400 relay team owns five of the top-six Division III times this season.

Knudson and Wagner combined efforts with senior Kelli Hancock and junior Alison Lindsay for the top Division III time in the 4,000 distance medley relay (11:48.89). WashU had the next top two times in the event as well.

Senior Rebecca Ridderhoff won the 200 dash with a personal-best time of 25.77, ranking 17th in the nation. Also setting a personal-best while winning her event was sophomore Heidi Nassos. She won the pole vault (3.70m) with a height that ranks 13th in Division III.
