Strong performances highlighted the Brandeis track and field teams outing this weekend.

Top Performers – Women

  • Senior Jordin Carter (Fort Wayne, Ind. / R. Nelson Snyder) turned in another great performance in the 20-pound weight throw throwing 14.57 meters for 3rd place. The mark was over a two-foot personal best for Carter and met the qualifying standards for both the DIII ECAC and New England championships. Carter is ranked fourth in the UAA.
  • Sophomore Lydia Harris (Damariscotta, Maine / Lincoln Academy) turned in a top 8 performance in the 300m, placing 7th with a time of 45.19.
  • The event of the meet was the women's 600m where Brandeis athletes went 2,4,5,7.  Junior Doyin Ogundiran (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East)led the group with a time of 1:37.12 but was followed closely by rookie Lisbeth Valdez (Providence, R.I./Hope) with a time of 1:40.87, her twin sister Leinni Valdez (Providence, R.I./Hope) in 1:41.09, and junior Maya Sands-Bliss (Williamsburg, Mass. / Amherst Regional) in 1:42.53.  All of these times were qualifiers for the DIII New England championships.
  • In the women's Open Mile rookie Andrea Bolduc (Auburn, Mass. / Auburn) ran a personal best to place 3rd in 5:26.34.  Her senior teammate Kyra Shreeve (Northborough, Mass. / Algonquin Reg.) was quite close behind, placing 5th in 5:25.84.
  • In the 60-meter hurdles, personal bests were turned in by sophomore Willa Moen (Ashland, Ore. / Ashland) (10.70) and senior Jessie Moore (Rye, N.Y./Rye)  (10.83). 
  • The 4x220 yard relay team of sophomore Jordan Brill-Cass (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield), junior Kanya Brown (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional), Moen and Moore ran to a time of 1:54.67 to place 2nd.
