Maroons Capture I-55 Triangular Title

The University of Chicago women's track and field team captured the team title at Saturday's I-55 Triangular hosted at Illinois Wesleyan's Shirk Center.

The No. 7 women's squad – led by two titles from sophomore Alisha Harris – scored 85.5 points to edged University Athletic Association rival Washington-St. Louis (81.5) and the host Titans were third with 49.

Harris won both the 60-meter dash (7.91 seconds) and 200 meters (26.60) as the Maroon women finished with six total event wins. In the 400, junior Nicole VacaGuzman finished first with a time of 1:01.09 and sophomore Robin Peter won her second-straight 60-meter hurdle event (9.16) after taking top honors in last weekend's Phoenix Invite.

Rounding out the UChicago women's event winners were junior Alexandra Thompson in the high jump (1.57 meters) and senior Cassidy McPherson in the 1,200 meters (3:46.78).
