Behind five individual event titles, the University of Chicago women's track and field team won the team title at Saturday's 10-team Windy City Rumble at Henry Crown Field House.
The women scored 219.5 points to easily win, topping second-place Wheaton (84.5 points).
Sophomore Mary Martin won the long jump (5.26 meters) and then finished runner-up in two events (200 and 60 meters) and Laura Darcey ran away with the indoor pentathlon, sweeping all five events – the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meters. She finished nearly 400 points ahead of the second-place finisher from Hope College.
Other winners included Lucy Kenig-Ziesler in the 5,000 meters (19:05.49), who finished just ahead of UChicago teammate Taylor Campos (19:06.01); Robin Peter in the 60-meter hurdles (8.90 seconds), and Isabel Garon in the pole vault (3.31m).
UChicago went 1-2-3 in the pole vault, as Angel Fluet and Sidney Lampert came in second and third, respectively.
