UAA Announces 2018 UAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Awards

Junior Dani Bland of Emory University and sophomore Laura Darcey of University of Chicago earned the top honors as the UAA announced the award winners for the 2018 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Bland, who was named Most Outstanding Performer for running events, finished first in the 60-meter dash in a personal record time of 7.71 seconds and also captured the Association title in the 200-meter dash in a season-best time of 25.13 seconds. She ran the second leg on the Eagles' 1,600-meter relay squad that won in a season-best time of 3:53.31.

Darcey, the Most Outstanding Performer for field events, swept UAA titles in the high jump (1.68 meters) and long jump (5.49 meters).

Julia Dannenbaum of Washington University was named UAA Rookie of the Year after winning the pole vault with a mark of 3.77 meters.

Head coach Chris Hall of Chicago and his staff were named UAA Coaching Staff of the Year for leading the Maroons to the women's title.
