Washington University in St. Louis women's indoor track & field was announced as the recipient of two national honors as sophomore Eka Jose and assistant coach Lane Lohr were named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Field Athlete and Assistant Coach of the Year, as announced by the association on Wednesday.

Jose's dominant sophomore season began with Division III's top triple jump of the season (12.29m) which set the school record. She solidified her entrance to nationals in the long jump with a leap of 5.81m a few weeks later, which ranked second in DIII entering nationals. Jose earned the first All-American honor of her career during day one of nationals by posting a long jump distance of 5.76m to take fourth place. She then celebrated her birthday on Saturday by posting a National Championship Triple Jump distance of 12.16m. Jose scored 15 of the Bears 40 points during a national runner-up finish.

Lohr was named the USTFCCCA Women's National Assistant Coach of the Year for the second time in his career, previously earning the honor in 2017. As the coach of horizontal jumps, pole vault and hurdlers, he helped coach the Bears to 32 of the 40 points scored at nationals. Lohr's Bears also scored 70 of the team's 170 points at UAA Championships, including a first-through-third sweep of the triple jump.
