Spartans Place Ninth at All-Ohio Championships

The Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team competed at the 2020 All-Ohio Indoor Championships at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio on Saturday.

senior Samantha Kelts placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.71 meters, while senior Julie Hines finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.48.

Additionally, the women's distance medley relay team of junior Madison Vargo, sophomore Grace Bentley, sophomore Kiera Olson and first-year Melissa Phung finished third in the event with a time of 12:56.47. Hines and Bentley also teamed with first-year Mia Kilroy and first-year Kemi Ogundiran to place fourth in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:11.58.

The Spartans were also in action on Friday, with a group competing at the Mid-February Meet, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. 

Top-five finishes for the women came from sophomore Maddy Nacci in the 3,000-meter run (second, 11:22.13), junior Eleanor Gaddy in the shot put (fifth, 11.39m) and first-year Victoria Zhao in the pole vault (fifth, 3.05m).
