Michelle Kim of Brandeis Promoted to Assistant Athletic Director

From Brandeis University Athletics

Brandeis University Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellness and Director of Athletics Sheryl Sousa '90 has announced that Michelle Kim has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director. Effective immediately, Kim will step down as volleyball coach.

"Michelle has been a valuable part of the administrative team for years and the scope of her responsibilities has grown significantly over time," Sousa said. "I'm pleased that she will be better able to focus her efforts toward that end."

Kim, who has also been the department's Business Manager for the past 15 years under Sousa, will focus on those duties, while also coordinating the department's information technology. She will also oversee the institutional reporting for the department to the NCAA and the Department of Education as well as other special projects.

Kim recently completed her 10th season as Brandeis's volleyball coach. She led the Judges to a record of 172-177. They reached the postseason four times in her tenure, winning back-to-back ECAC titles in 2006 and 2007 and reaching the title match in 2012.

The University will start the search immediately to fill the volleyball head coach vacancy.
