MaTia Hughes of the New York University women's volleyball team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro/Upstate Region Libero of the Week on Wednesday, October 1.

The sophomore from Atlanta, GA, helped the Violets to a 3-1 week, totaling 43 digs over 11 sets at the Stevens Invitational. She tallied a match-best 18 kills in a sweep of the United States Coast Guard Academy and a team-high 14 kills against Richard Stockton College.

This is the second ECAC award of the season for Hughes, who currently leads the Violets in digs (319).
