Carolyn Bogart of CWRU Garners CoSIDA Academic All-America® Honors

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Bogart is the 41st first team Academic All-American in CWRU history and the honor increases CWRU's total to 90 since the inception of the program. Case Western Reserve's 86 Academic All-Americans to begin the year ranked as the 14th-most among NCAA Division III institutions and are tied for 59th among all collegiate athletic programs.

Bogart finished the 2015 season ranking first on the team with 3.0 kills per game, 30 service aces, and is second with 432 digs this season, giving her a career total of 1,061. Over her career she has tallied 1,146 kills, the eighth most in program history. She is one of only five players in CWRU history to have recorded 1,000 in both digs and kills.

Bogart has served as the team's captain since her sophomore year and her senior season goes into the record books as one of the most historic seasons in program history. The Spartans qualified for the NCAA Championships for just the second time ever, and claimed its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory after defeating Mary Washington in the first round.  Case Western Reserve finished the year with a 25-8 record, the most wins by the team since the 2000 campaign and the second-most ever by a Spartan volleyball squad.

Earlier this season, Bogart earned All-University Athletic Association second team honors as well as CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors.
