Emory Runs Win Streak To 10 -- Posts 3-1 Decision Over Lee

The Emory volleyball team earned its 10th consecutive win on Tuesday evening following a triumph over NCAA Division II member Lee University. The Eagles boosted their overall record to 22-2 following a 3-1 verdict over the Flames who slipped to 8-8.  

A balanced Emory offensive attack that featured four players with double figures in kills hit .255 (59-22—145) on the evening while holding the visiting Lee squad to .149 (43-20—154). Senior Ashley Crawford and junior Kathryn Trinka tied for match honors with 13 terminations with Crawford establishing a career high in that category. Junior Jessica Holler hit .409 on the strength of 12 kills with three errors in 22 swings while classmate Sarah Maher also pounded out a dozen successful attack attempts. Junior Shannon Nugent figured in the triumph by making the most of her hitting opportunities, finishing with a team-high attack percentage of .412 (8-1—17).

Senior Sydney Miles posted her fourth match of the year and 19th of her career with 50 or more assists, dishing out 53 while chipping in 13 digs, second high on the club, and two service aces.  With five players recording double figures, the Eagles logged a season-high 81 digs with freshman Becky Breuer leading all players with 28, tying the 15th-hgihest individual match total in school history.
