Junior Kathryn Trinka led Emory with 14 kills in helping the Eagles to a Saturday afternoon win at Washington and Lee. Emory rallied for a 3-1 decision (18-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-16) over the Generals, and in the process raised its overall record to 14-2.
Trinka concluded the match hitting .429 (14-2--28) with her terminations total representing her 14th outing of doubles figures this season. Freshman Karissa Dzurik and junior Sarah Maher each contributed 10 kills with Dzurik hitting .320 (10-2--25). Senior Sydney Miles dished out 42 assists and registered an attack percentage of .875, totaling seven kills with no errors in eight opportunities. Junior Jessica Holler came through with seven successful attack attempts and paced the club with four total blocks (1-3).
Junior Sheridan Rice tied for match honors with 17 digs.
For the match, Emory hit .339 (55-16--115) compared to W&L's .216 (44-19--116), the 14th time this season it enjoyed an edge in that category. After hitting just .111 in the opening set, the Eagles' offense got untracked, hitting a solid .409 (45-9--88) over the final three games.
