Rochester Tops Cabrini, Falls to No. 15 Eastern

Eastern University, the nation's 15th-ranked team in women's volleyball, posted a 3-0 victory over Rochester in the second match of the night for the Yellowjackets at the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic.

With four players getting six kills or more in the first match, Rochester used balance to sweep Cabrini College, 25-16, 25-19, 25-17.

In the second match, the Yellowjackets lost, 14-25, 17-25, 18-25. Rochester had a six-match winning streak snapped by Eastern. The Yellowjackets are 8-3 heading into Saturday's action. Cabrini was 8-5 after losing to Rochester. Eastern improved its mark to 10-2.

Against Cabrini, Jennie Ford had another double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs. Alexandra Goldman had eight kills and two blocks. Shira Katz had seven hits and Emma Gira had six. Nina Baek added four kills, five service aces, and four digs. Meghan Connor had 10 digs. Ashley Hunter added nine digs. Aimee Kohler had 34 assists. 

In the second match of the evening, the Yellowjackets could not get their hitting untracked. They committed 19 attack errors.

Statistically, Ford was the leader with eight kills. Kayla Sell had four kills. Gira and Goldman had three apiece. Kohler had 20 assists and seven digs. Connor led with 12 digs. Rochester had one block solo and four block assists. Goldman had one of each.
