From University of Rochester Athletics

The University of Rochester women's volleyball team was featured on Good Day Rochester, a live morning show on WHAM/FOX TV (Channel 7 in the local market. Hannah Welker, the morning correspondent, talked with Yellowjacket players and coaches as they prepare for the University Athletic Association championships this weekend.

It's the second visit of the fall for Good Day Rochester. Hannah was here in September to practice with the Yellowjacket tennis team and talk with the players plus head coach Matt Nielsen.
 

On Tuesday morning, she interviewed head coach Ladi Iya, then took part in several drills while the Yellowjackets practiced. She spent time learning the proper method to serve the ball, then learned how to play as the libero, the central defender who receives the majority of opposing serves and attacks, and directs them to the forward line so an attack can be launched from Rochester's side of the court.

Matches will be held starting at noon on Friday in the Palestra and the Goergen Athletic Center.
