Three UAA student-athletes were named to the 2015 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division III Volleyball Team.
The three UAA student-athletes to earn Academic All-America® recognition were among the elite 18 student-athletes in NCAA Division III to be honored.
Senior Carolyn Bogart of Case Western Reserve University was one of just six student-athletes to be named to the first team of the Academic All-America® Division III Volleyball Team. A psychology major with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average, she becomes the third individual in CWRU volleyball history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Bogart earned second-team All-Association accolades and helped lead the Spartans to their first NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship victory in program history.
Senior Sydney Miles of Emory University garnered second-team Academic All-America® honors. Miles turned in an outstanding season for the Eagles, earning D-III First Team All-American recognition as chosen by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for the fourth straight year, the first Emory player to accomplish that feat and just the third in the history of the AVCA. Academically, Miles, who majors in Neuroscience and Behavior Biology, was nominated with a 3.42 grade-point average.
Junior Caroline Dupont of Washington University is just the eighth individual in WashU volleyball history to earn Academic All-America® honors. One of nine underclassmen honored, Dupont holds a 3.56 GPA while majoring in math with minors in Spanish and economics. A three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, Dupont earned second-team accolades this season after being a first-team honoree in 2013 and an honorable mention selection in 2014.
