Carnegie Mellon to Host First Volleyball Round Robin Saturday and Sunday

Carnegie Mellon University, one of three nationally ranked teams in the Association, will host the first volleyball round robin on Saturday and Sunday.

UAA teams bring a combined 86-32 record (.729 winning percentage) into the round robin with seven squads entering the weekend on multiple-match winning streaks.

Emory University is ranked seventh in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25, highest among UAA teams. The host Tartans are ranked 15th, while defending Association champion Washington University is ranked 16th. The Tartans and Bears meet in the opening match of the weekend at noon on Saturday.

Each team will play three matches this weekend and finish the round robin schedule Oct. 15-16 at Brandeis University with four more matches. The championship will be held at Washington University Nov. 4-5.
