From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

The Carnegie Mellon University women's volleyball team moved up to No. 16 in the rankings this week and topped The College at Brockport 3-0 on Friday, September 15 at the Susquehanna University Hampton Inn River Hawk Classic. The Tartans move to 9-0 on the year after set wins of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-19.

The Tartans were led by junior Lauren Mueller's (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown STEM Academy) nine kills, as senior Eliza Donohue (Lancaster, Pa. / Hempfield) had seven and sophomore Sahara Aqui(Miramar, Fla. / Archbishop McCarthy) picked up six. Assists came from multiple players for the Tartans with senior Amanda Thiele (Lakeland, Fla. / George Jenkins) collecting nine and sophomore Kayla Yew(San Francisco, Calif. / Sacred Heart Cathedral) dishing out seven.

Defensively, Mueller led with 11 digs while Yew picked up 10 for her ninth straight double-digit dig game of the season. Mueller also had three block assists to go with one block solo, as Donohue also had three block assists.
