Karley King of CWRU Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

Due to her outstanding performance both in the classroom and on the court, sophomore outside hitter Karley King of the Case Western Reserve University volleyball team has been named to the Academic All-District volleyball first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

This is the first career All-District honor for King. By being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team, she will be placed on the ballot for the Academic All-America team which will be announced on Wednesday, December 13th.

King, an All-UAA Academic honoree, finished third on the team with 241 kills (2.25 per set) and recorded a .221 hitting percentage. She also tallied 52 digs and 46 total blocks, including 37 block assists. Over her career, she has gathered 427 kills (2.06 per set) and 89 total blocks (0.43 per set).

King carries a 4.00 cumulative grade point average as a Biomedical Engineering major at CWRU.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by CoSIDA. CWRU is included in District 7, which includes Division III schools from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

The Spartans finished the regular season with a 19-12 overall record and finished in fifth-place at the University Athletic Association Championships.
