#25 Chicago Opens UAA Round Robin With Two-Match Sweep

The No. 25-ranked University of Chicago volleyball team continued its winning ways with a pair of 3-0 victories over Brandeis University and University of Rochester to open Saturday's University Athletic Association Round Robin #1, hosted by Case Western Reserve University.

The Maroons (14-3) have now won eight-straight matches. 

#25 UChicago 3, Brandeis 0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-21)
Anabella Pinton and Sarah Muisenga each recorded 10 kills, rookie Emma Griffith dished out 28 assists and had 14 digs, and Madison Pearson added four block assists to lead the Maroons (13-3) to an opening win over the Judges (7-4).

The Maroons committed just eight hitting errors to compile a .262 attack percentage compared to 21 mistakes for Brandeis, who hit .107. UChicago also dominated at the service line, connecting on eight aces – led by Anne Marie Stifter with three and Muisenga with two.

The Maroons also controlled the net, holding a 12-0 advantage in block assists.

Muisenga and Stifter added 11 digs each for the defense and Pearson and Audrey Scrafford added six kills apiece to round out the Maroons' leaders.

Audrey Scrafford had 14 kills and Sarah Muisenga added 12 to lead a Maroons offense that hit .280 en route to Saturday's second sweep of the day.

Emma Griffith added 35 assists and 10 digs, Anne Marie Stifter recorded a team-high 16 digs and Katherine Wilson had 10 digs to round out the Maroons leaders.

UChicago held the Yellowjackets to a .123 attack percentage and the Maroons' offense flourished in the second set, when it combined for 16 kills and just two errors for a .378 percentage.
