CWRU to Host First Volleyball Round Robin Saturday and Sunday

Case Western Reserve University serves as host of the first volleyball round robin on Saturday and Sunday. Four of the eight teams enter the weekend nationally ranked.

UAA teams bring a combined 79-35 record (.693 winning percentage) into the round robin with six of the squads at least five matches above .500.

Emory University is ranked third in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25, highest among UAA teams. Carnegie Mellon University, which has won its first 16 matches, is ranked 10th, the highest in program history. Washington University is ranked 18th, and the University of Chicago entered the poll this week at 25th.

Each team will play three matches this weekend and finish the round robin schedule Oct. 14-15 at Chicago with four more matches. The championship will be held at Emory University Nov. 3-4.
