Four UAA Teams Earn Bids to NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship

Four UAA teams earned a bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship, led by Association champion Emory University.

The Eagles, who did not drop a set in winning the UAA title this past weekend, are joined in the NCAA championship by University of Chicago, Washington University, and Carnegie Mellon University.

Emory (24-6) will travel to Berry College to face Meredith College (23-4) in the first round. The winner of that match will face either Colorado College (31-2) or Washington & Lee University (21-12). Host Berry (25-3) opens with Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (19-12), while Birmingham-Southern College (25-6) and University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (26-4) meet in the other first-round matchup.

Chicago (28-4) will host an eight-team regional that includes Washington University (25-7). The Maroons open against University of Dubuque (24-8) with the winner of that match to play the winner of the match between Trinity University (25-6) and Aurora University (23-8). The Bears face Cornell College (18-9) with the other first-round match pitting Illinois Wesleyan University (25-5) against California Lutheran University (18-11).

Carnegie Mellon (22-10) will travel to Ithaca College and face State University of New York at Morrisville (25-6) in the first round. The winner is set to face the winner of the Rochester Institute of Technology (28-4) vs. Nazareth College (23-12) victor. The host Bombers (18-7) open against Southern Vermont College (21-6) with Hunter College (24-8) and Stevenson University (21-11) meeting in the other first-round matchup.

The eight regional winners will advance to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the championship rounds Nov. 15-17 and will be seeded after regional play.
